We have chosen New Year’s Eve to remind us that police officers all over the country are working and not with their families. We honor them and all those that have worn the badge with respect and dignity by starting the New Year healthy, sober and safe. We remember that no matter how bad things are, there can be a new beginning.

WHY DO WE RUN?

We have chosen New Year’s Eve to remind us that police officers all over this country are working and not with their families. We honor them and all those that have worn the badge with honor and dignity by starting the New Year healthy, sober and safe. We remember that no matter how bad things are, there can be a new beginning. Vivian Eney Cross, Survivor said "It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it is how they lived". Each officer on the back of the t-shirt was a hero to someone.

All runners receive a shirt that can be individualized if the form is received at least two weeks in advance. Many of our runners have an officer’s name on their back that holds a special meaning to them. If you have a team name that too will be placed on the back.

Fundraising for the hotline is greatly appreciated. The Top 5 teams and 5 top individual runners that raise the most money will be acknowledged that evening at the Asbury Park NJ Boardwalk where this year’s event starts and finishes, as well as on the website until next year’s run. All sponsors at the patrolman level and above will have their logos on each shirt as well as have their companies name on our website until 12/31/19 so the sooner the donation is received, the sooner their name will be on the site. Feel free to form a team or run as an individual. All money goes to Copline Inc. to fund trainings of peer listeners and software that is needed to support the lines. Copline is a 501(c)3 so all donations are tax deductible.

There will be a virtual run that will start at midnight in every time zone. We need you to spread the word to other LEO’s in this country. Last year we had dozens of runners in NJ and virtual participants on the elliptical machine, stationary bikes and treadmills in Florida, San Diego and Oklahoma. They can pick a specific location to start and finish or on equipment inside their Department. Our goal is to have someone from every department and field office in this county to have a participant in the Run for the Call.

Copline held it's inaugural golf outing on June 4, 2018 at the San Vicente Golf Club in Ramona, California. We would like to thank the sixty golfers, friends and family who showed their support and made this event a success.

​Copline is holding its next training in San Diego, California from 12/6-12/10/17. Training is 40 hours. All interested retirees please fill out an application on http://www.copline.org/. All applicants will be vetted before they are asked to the training. Successful completion of the training will allow volunteer listeners to begin taking calls. All shifts are 12 hours and can be transferred to a cellphone, home phone or designed number the volunteer provides. Each volunteer must take 1 shift per month and commit to a year. Please contact us with any questions.‍"Location and details will be given to vetted volunteers attending training".‍We will be updating with more specifics within the next couple of weeks.
